ADNATCO History
 

 

         1975 - 1979
1975 Incorporation of ADNATCO, as a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNOC for the purpose of transportation of crude oil & petroleum products .
1975 Acquisition of VLCC "Al Dhafrah" (269,197 DWT).
1975 Acquisition of VLCC "Dalma" (260,866 DWT).
1976 Acquisition of VLCC "Al Ain" (135,900 DWT).
1977 Contract signed with Korea Shipbuilding & Engg Co., Pusan (Korea) to build four petroleum product tankers.

 

         1980 - 1989
1980 Contract signed with Chantiers de L'Atlantique, St. Nazarie (France) to build three petroleum product tankers.
1982 P&O Ship Management Ltd., UK were appointed as ADNATCO fleet Managers.
1983 Delivery of Six Product Carriers built at the Korean and French Shipyards.
1984 Delivery of the last Product Tanker Al Dhibyaniyyah.
1985 VLCC Al Dhafrah and Dalma scrapped.
1988 Setting up of ADNATCO's new Board of Directors.

 

         1990 - 1999
1991 ADNATCO takes over management of its fleet.
1991 Order placed with Singmarine Shipyard, Singapore to build a molten sulphur carrier of 9,365 DWT.
1993 Delivery of molten sulphur carrier "Janana".
1993 Converted “Umm Al Lulu” to a specialized offshore bunker supply vessel.
1994 Acquisition of VLCC "Liwa" (256,390 DWT).
1995 Acquisition of bunkering vessel "Bani Yas" (6,755 DWT).
1995 Contract of affreightment (COA) for transporting LPG.
1995 Suez Max crude carrier “Al Ain” sold.
1999 Commenced the transportation of dry bulk sulphur to North Africa.
1999 VLCC Liwa scrapped.

 

         2000 - till date
2000 ADNATCO’s 25th Anniversary.
2001 ADNATCO started transport of polyethylene for Borouge using Ro Ro vessels.
2004 RoRo vessels Al Ruwais & Al Dhafrah added to fleet.
2006 ADNATCO takes over management of RoRo vessels
